Here you can immerse yourself  in a world of tranquillity.
The work on the church started in 1280.  It was a double naved hall church – a design which provided particularly good acoustics. It was built in the Gothic style which had originated in France somewhat earlier and must have been the height of modernity in its day. It served as an architectural model for many of the order’s religious buildings in the southwest of Germany.  One of  its special treasures is the former  friary sacristy, where the middle column  supports an ornate cross-ribbed vault. In 1836 the disused church and friary buildings were destroyed by a devastating fire which swept the town. An extensive restauration was untertaken by the Kulturstiftung Hütte in 2006/2007.
